Rakhshanimehr: Electricity demand rose by 7% in 1398 AP (2019)
Deputy of Distribution Networks Coordination in TAVANIR, Gholamali Rakhshanimehr said electricity demand rose by 7% in compare to last year. He said that since beginning of 1398, Yazd and Tabriz had been the regions with largest consumption of electricity in Iran.
According to Bargh News Agency reported, Rakhshanimehr stated that Energy Index in Iran rose almost 2% in current year.
During his talks to IRINN (Islamic Republic of Iran News Network), he stated the largest amount of electricity consumption has been on June 25, 2019 (04/04/1398 on Persian Calendar) in which the peak demand rose to 59,000MW.
Stating about considering of 8 plans for peak shaving during summer season in 1398, he mentioned: “Two plans are price-based and others are reward-based”. He said: “For instance, if farmers switch off their water pumps during peak time for 4 hours, they can take advantage of free electricity for 20 hours”.
“If governmental offices reduce electricity consumption during 11 A.M to 3 P.M., they will be rewarded by TAVANIR”, Rakhshanimehr said.
